Who is not going to agree with Shakespeare’s this quote? Every people loves to sleep. According to a survey people spend about one-third of their life with sleep. And in a healthy sleep there is an important part which is “Dream”.

Dreams are forever a mystery. From ancient times until now, human dreams have been confined to the fence of mystery.
No matter what, dreams always offer us a painting canvas where we can store our emotions, thoughts and desires again to come to life. With the help of this blog post, let’s visit from the mysterious world of “Dreams”.
What is dreams actually?
Some people has defined dreams as an illustrations or some has described as just a regular visualization of our daily lives. In ancient time, people portrayed about their dreams with the help of art, literature and culture.
Back then in Egypt, as far back as 2000BC, the ancient Egyptians wrote down about their dreams and they believed that dreams were like having messages from God. They even believed there was a bad dream God named “Tutu”.

Not only the Egyptians but also most of the Greeks and Romans also believed that dreams could give information about people’s past, present and future events. The Greeks worshiped a God who they considered the dream of God named “Morpheus”.

According to modern science, people are dreaming because of theta brain waves. In neuroscience, dreams are actually associated with people’s memory consolidation while sleeping.
Dreams become mysterious when they relates with a person’s
future.

Types of dreams—
~Vivid dreams~
The ordinary dreams what we experience in during our sleep is this type of dreams. It can be based on our daily activities and thoughts. This type of dreams usually feel so intense that they can easily affect person’s mental health and well being.
~Lucid Dreams~
One of the most interesting and a rare part of dreaming type is called Lucid Dreams. A small percentage of people has the ability to have lucid dreams in their life. According to the neuroscientists, this type of dreams usually happens between dream and wake states of a
person. In some instances, they have the awareness and the ability to control over their dream characters or environment.

Usually lucid dreams happens during REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep. REM sleep is when a person’s brain activity stay similar as like when we are awake. You will wonder to know that people can even learn in the time of having lucid dreams. But there is also some negative effects of lucid dreams. Psychologists say, lucid dreams can cause serious mental health issues and it is also disrupted in a person’s sleep.

Negative feelings like scary or terrifying is fully
associated with this type of dreams.
People wakes with anxiety or fear. So they can have bad impacts from this kind of dreams. Nightmares are defined as disturbing dreams that awaken the sleeper. (Hasler & Germain, 2009; Nadorff et al.,2014)
~Fantasy Dreams~
This type of dreams are often like a fantasy that something you imagine which might involve with fictional characters like dragons, unicorns or an imaginary best friend. Despite of being an unreal dream, this type of dreams always gives a positive vibes towards the sleepers.
~Night terrors~
This type of dreams are consider one kind of sleeping disorder in where a person awakens from sleep in a terrified state. The cause for night terrors happenings is still unknown. This kind of dreams often triggered by fever, lack of sleep or stress. Episodes of screaming, instance fear or falling from higher are the type of night terrors.
~Prophetic Dreams~
Prophetic dreams is consider that having predict or foretell future events through seeing dreams. These dreams are thought to provide a glimpses into something which may unfold later in real life. This type of dreams often seen because of psychic abilities or a deep connection with the subconscious mind.
To conclude, no matter how mysterious our dreams are they are totally our own. Probably that is why famous writer J.K Rowling states through one of her character Albus Dumbledore that
“For in dreams we enter a world that is entirely our own.
Let them swim in the deepest ocean, or glide over the highest cloud”
