How Anime Became One of the Most Popular Entertainment Source Worldwide



 Anime is a style of Japanese film animation that is usually aimed at adults as well as children. It was a very niche category for entertainment ,because it was only popular amongst the hardcore fans. During COVID-19 when people couldn't go out of their home people had to look for indoor activities to get some entertainment and that is when anime became really popular. Just like other tv shows, movies etc. people started watching anime. During the pandemic the anime industry released its biggest success of all time. In 2020, Demon Slayer the Movie: Mugen Train was released which made $48 million in North America, $365 million in Japan and $504 million worldwide.

So it is very clear how popular anime has become after the COVID-19 pandemic from the profit it makes worldwide. Anime is mostly targeted towards adults and has a very in depth story or plot. The depth in story, introducing different kinds of characters, high quality animation is what anime does the best. Not to mention the music of an anime is also a huge part of it. Just like songs and music produced for any movie of tv series anime also has various songs and music which makes watching anime all the more enjoyable and fun. There are different kinds of genre as well. So people can watch whatever genre they like. Some of the most popular genre in anime are action, adventure, slice of life, psychological etc. Psychological, action and slice of life are my favorite genre in anime. One of the most popular psychological anime is "Mob Psycho 100".This anime focused on a school student who has psychic abilities from an early age, he could bend spoon and move stuffs around without touching them. Everyday his abilities keep getting stronger and he would sometimes end up using them even if he didn't want to. The protagonist tries to live a normal life without accepting his true self and the story is about the struggles he gone through and the acceptance for his true self he finally achieved by the help of his friends and mentor.

Even popular platforms like Netflix is working towards the launch of 40 new anime titles. Anime is not only limited to art and animation anymore because live action anime are also being made to please its fans. Live action anime is basically performed by real people and made like a movie just based on the story of an anime. The live action anime made for popular anime "Death Note" really enthralled its audiences. That is why online platforms for web series are also working on many different projects for live action anime.

Anime is definitely one of my favorite source of entertainment and it is really nice to see it getting more popular day by day. Which encourages writers and producers to bring more great anime in the industry. Even movie theatres these days are broadcasting more and more anime movies and earning huge profit from it. In the end out of many kinds of different hobbies and activities people have for entertainment purpose, watching anime is one of them and it is just as much popular as watching web series and tv shows.
